So, what?

The truth is, Inbound Marketing Week could shape up like any other typical week, if you let it. However, there are significant learning and networking opportunities happening this week, so you might want to pay some mind.

But first, let’s get one thing out of the way.

Is Inbound Marketing Week yet another commercially-invented holiday?

Well, kind of. But, that’s not a bad thing. Our friends at Hubspot created Inbound Marketing Week to spread love and awareness about inbound marketing. Here’s a brief description from the about page:

“Inbound Marketing Week (IMW) event hosts create and run events that happen simultaneously in multiple cities around the world. These events encourage professionals to interact and collaborate with each other to share knowledge and insight on inbound marketing.”

So, you can see that there is a lot going on this week to celebrate everything inbound. There are plenty of opportunities, if you take advantage. Here’s how you can make the most of Inbound Marketing Week 2015:

#1: Attend an official event.

There are tons of global events happening this week. Find an event near you here.

#2: Monitor the #IMW15 hashtag on twitter.

If you are a Hubspot user, set up a stream and select to receive social inbox notifications for any updates in the #imw15 conversation.

#3: If you haven’t yet, join Inbound.org.

I admit that while I’ve technically been a member of inbound.org for quite some time, I didn’t become active until very recently. There are so many tools and social networks out there, that I often find myself experiencing content overload. Initially, I was a bit cynical about inbound.org, casting it aside as another thing to get to on my to do list. I’ve been pleasantly surprised, however, with the quality of the discussions and the engagement of the user base. I regret not prioritizing it sooner. If you are an inbound marketer, it is definitely worth your while to check it out. And, what better time than inbound marketing week to get started?

#4: Identify one aspect of inbound that you’d like to learn more about and ask an expert.

One of the trickiest, but also most exciting aspects of being an inbound marketer is the ever-changing nature of the work that we do. Whether you want to learn more about how to grow your blog traffic or increase your conversion rates, there is tons of information at your fingertips in the blogosphere and inbound.org (where you can ask the experts themselves).

#5: Show some love to your favorite inbound marketers.

Whether you employ inbound marketers (via an agency or FTE) or are an inbound marketer yourself, this is a time to spread the love. There is no better time for gratitude and admiration, so express thanks to your favorite inbound marketers through a Twitter, LinkedIn and/or Facebook shout-out.
